Interview with the CEO of Manufacture Royale, David Guten.

The brand wants to be unique. And it is!

After one night of sleep I imagined wearing a MR, I was either driving a Spyker C8 or the Nautilus from Jules Vern.

Meeting with David Gouten, CEO of Manufacture Royale, at the Lavish Attic in Central, HongKong, was a pleasure. A Swiss gentleman with a vision for uniqueness.

Manufacture Royale traces back its origins in 1770. Never wanted to be classic and never will.

The spirit of the brand is clear:

Creativity

Freedom

Passion

Voltaire, famously known for his liberty of thinking and creativity, created Manfucture Royale in 1770. David shared one of his favorite quotes from Voltaire: “dare to think for yourself” and this is what the brand is applying in their collections.

So what is manufacture royal?

MR has developped 10 in house calibers and cases designs that no one else does. Finally something really different and definitely not classic!

10 collections include jumping hour, tourbillion, double tourbillion, flying tourbillion, and a very special minute repeater.

MR is high end, well manufactured, uniquely designed, and is a true independent creator. And this is what they will continue to do.

The ADN is the latest model released at Basel World and it wants to show the origins of the brand.

The manufacture wants to continue to be leader in their design, Retro futuristic. Customers are asking for uniqueness, and they provide it. In 2016 they produced a very limited series of which three watches were made per color: blue, purple, and khaki.

They want their customers to say wow when they see a watch. I understand why. Cases are well crafted, movements are beautiful and equipped with highest complications.
